The Staff Senate Diversity and Inclusion Committee invites you to a campus conversation about the impacts of privilege on the work environment. Through small group discussions, participants will explore the concepts of whiteness and privilege and how they shape office cultures that exclude people with marginalized identities. Improve your intercultural competence through a three-part workshop. This series offers practical skills for communicating with KU’s international community and gaining global awareness. The workshops focus on intercultural communication, how our cultural lens impacts cross-cultural dialogue and strategies for increased engagement and positive outcomes during culturally diverse interactions. KU Common Book is a campuswide initiative to engage first-year students. The program generates opportunities for shared intellectual experiences and invites participation from all students, as well as faculty and staff who wish to include the book in their classes and programs.

R.E.A.D.: Reading for Equity and Diversity 

The 2020 series will begin this Spring. The committee has chosen "Just Mercy". We intend the READ series to spark conversations and dialogue, and help us to engage our challenges and opportunities to improve our university community.
