Letter from the Outgoing President | Spring 2024

This year, Staff Senate has been focused on tracking initiatives and advocating for ongoing staff concerns. Alongside other Governance leaders, I served on the Employee Constituent Survey Implementation Team, which the Provost formed to tackle the recommendations from the recent staff and faculty satisfaction surveys. This work is ongoing and will continue throughout future survey cycles. 

We also successfully secured Wellness Week—the week between Christmas and New Year’s—as a paid week off for our staff this year. While this is still not a permanent fixture, we will continue to advocate to KBOR to make this a permanent week of rest and relaxation that will benefit our entire community. 

I want to thank all our senators, committee members, and anyone else who dedicated their time to governance work. We had a great year.
